Christopher Miller was appointed the Interim Vice President of Multifamily Lending and Neighborhood Investments at the DC Housing Finance Agency (DCHFA) in January 2020. Mr. Miller is responsible for the day- to-day operations of the Agency’s multifamily business and the Housing Investment Platform (HIP), the Agency’s sponsored community focused real estate private equity fund. DCHFA issues over $300 million in tax-exempt bonds annually to support the development and preservation of affordable housing in the District. Mr. Miller also serves as the Agency’s lead on efforts, strategies, and investments to advance the District’s 36000 by 2025 housing goals.
Mr. Miller joined the Agency in 2017. Prior to being appointed Interim Vice President, Mr. Miller was the Senior Director for Housing Investments at DCHFA and was responsible for the launch of HIP. HIP provides equity financing to emerging developers to help increase the District’s supply of affordable middle-income rental and for-sale housing. HIP has invested in the creation of over 100 units of affordable for-sale housing in the District.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Miller was a Senior Analyst at Fannie Mae in the Multifamily Mortgage and Enterprise Risk Management Divisions as well as an Analyst at Capital Automotive Real Estate Services.
Mr. Miller received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the George Washington University, in addition to an MBA from the Yale School of Management. He serves on the board of Reach Incorporated and is a member of the Urban Land Institute. Mr. Miller was commended as the Emerging Leader by the African American Real Estate Professionals of DC in 2018.
